Vote to pass a bill that prohibits sexual exploitation of a minor through the use of visual depiction in the state of Iowa.

Highlights:

• Prohibits the knowing purchase or possession of a visual depiction of a minor engaging in a prohibited sexual act (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the offender to be prosecuted for every pictorial representation of containing different minors (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes that offenders who are found to have multiple images of the same identifiable minor will be prosecuted for one offense (Sec. 1) 

• Establishes a class “D” felony as punishment for any person who commits this violation for the first time, and a class “C” felony for second time offenders (Sec. 1). 

• Requires that the identifiable minor was a minor at the time that the visual depiction was made, adapted, or modified (Sec. 1).
