Title: Establishes a Program to Compensate Owners of Livestock Killed by Wildlife
Vote to pass a bill that establishes a program to compensate owners of livestock killed by wildlife in the state of Idaho.
Requires the legislature to appropriate $225,000 annually to the depredation of livestock and prevention fund (Sec. 1).
Authorizes $150,000 of the aforementioned amount to be annually used to compensate validated claims of depredation (Sec. 1).
Establishes $75,000 of the appropriations to be used annually for conflict prevention and provision of information for deterrents (Sec. 1).
Requires all claims to be made to the Idaho state department of agriculture before December 31 of each year (Sec. 1).
Specified claims of valid compensation to be deemed by the Idaho state department of agriculture (Sec. 1).
Establishes the effective date as July 1, 2024 (Sec. 2).
