Vote to pass a bill that establishes a program to compensate owners of livestock killed by wildlife in the state of Idaho.

Highlights:

• Requires the legislature to appropriate $225,000 annually to the depredation of livestock and prevention fund (Sec. 1). 

• Authorizes $150,000 of the aforementioned amount to be annually used to compensate validated claims of depredation (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes $75,000 of the appropriations to be used annually for conflict prevention and provision of information for deterrents (Sec. 1). 

• Requires all claims to be made to the Idaho state department of agriculture before December 31 of each year (Sec. 1). 

• Specified claims of valid compensation to be deemed by the Idaho state department of agriculture (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes the effective date as July 1, 2024 (Sec. 2).
