Title: Prohibits Firearm Dealers from Tracking Individual Gun or Ammunition Purchases
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits firearm dealers from tracking individual gun or ammunition purchases in the state of New Hampshire.
Prohibits a payment card network to be assigned to a merchant to use a firearms code (Sec. 2).
Requires a merchant category code for general merchandise retailers or sporting goods retailers (Sec. 2).
Authorizes the attorney general to examine witnesses and documents to enforce firearm codes (Sec. 3).
Requires the attorney general to give written notice to the violators except under the following conditions (Sec. 4):
Cures the identified violation within 30 days;
Provides supporting documentation or how the violation was cured; and
Made changes to internal policies to prevent the recurrence of any similar violation.
Authorizes the court to issue injunctions if the person is found to be intentionally in violation of the aforementioned conditions (Sec. 5).
Establishes the effective date as January 1, 2025 (Sec. 5).
