Vote to adopt a conference report vote and final pass a bill that in increases in the tax credits the disabled can claim in the state of Kansas.

Highlights:

  • Authorizes insurance agents or brokers who act in negotiating a contract or insurance, including annuity by an insurance company, to be entitled to hold such premium in trust for the company making the contract (Sec. 1) 

  • Establishes that any agents and brokers who fail to pay a company with whom they have written consent will be classified with prima facie evidence (Sec. 1). 

  • Requires that any agent or broker in violation of the aforementioned conditions shall be guilty of the following (Sec. 1)

    • Severity level 7, nonperson felony if the value of insurance is $25,000 or more; 

    • Severity level 9, nonperson felony if the value of insurance is at least $1,000 but less than $25,000; or

    • Class A nonperson misdemeanor if the value of insurance is less than $1,000. 

  • Establishes the effective date to be in force after the publication in the statute book (Sec. 3).
