Vote to pass a bill that amends and modernizes public notice requirements to increase government transparency in the state of Iowa.

Highlights:

• Amends and modernizes public notice requirements for better access and transparency in state government (Sec. 2).

• Requires public notices to be printed in newspapers, as well as online in front of paywalls on the newspaper websites so they can be accessed by citizens who can't afford a subscription (Sec. 2). 

• Authorizes the Iowa Newspaper Association to upgrade its statewide public notice website so citizens can search for notices and subscribe to receive notifications whenever public notices are published (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 9).
