Title: Establishes New Waiting Period for Purchase and Delivery of a Firearm
Vote to pass a bill that establishes a new waiting period for purchase and delivery of a firearm in the state of New Hampshire.
Prohibits any licensed importer, license manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector from transferring, selling, trading, giving, or transporting firearms until a waiting period of 3 days has expired (Sec. 1).
Establishes that the waiting period shall not apply in the following circumstances (Sec. 1):
During a trade-in of a firearm to a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector;
Following the completion of a minimum of a 16-hour hunter education course offered by the Department of Fish and Game;
The purchase from an active-duty state, county, or municipal law enforcement office, active-duty state or county correctional office, or active-duty member of armed forces; or
A person who has a restraining order from a court where the person fears their safety.
Establishes the effective date of the act to be on January 1, 2025 (Sec. 2).
