Vote to pass a bill to requires a license authorizing an individual to carry a loaded pistol or revolver in the state of New Hampshire to include the sellers information.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the Department of Public Safety and Welfare to issue a license to applicants approving the carry of a loaded pistol or revolver in the state (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes the following as the proper purpose of applying for a firearm (Sec. 1):

  • Hunting;

  • Target shooting; and

  • Self-defense. 

• Authorizes licenses to be valid for all allowable purposes regardless of the purpose for which it was originally issued (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the criteria that will be made visible on the license: name, address, and signature of the individual issuing the license (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the license issuer to preserve the duplicate license for 5 years from the date of issue (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes that the license shall be issued within 14 days after application (Sec.1). 

• Establishes a $10 fee for licenses issued to residents of the state (Sec. 1). 

• Requires a $100 fee for licenses granted to out-of-state residents (Sec. 1). 

• Authorizes any law enforcement officer who issues a license in good faith to be immune from liability arising from misconduct with a firearm committed by an individual who was issued a firearm license (Sec. 2). 

• Establishes the effective date as 60 days after the bill's passage (Sec. 3).
