Title: Amends Various State Cannabis Policies and Regulations
Vote to pass a bill that amends various state cannabis policies and regulations in the state of New Mexico.
Amends various state cannabis policies and regulations in the state of New Mexico including repealing the prohibition against an individual from owning both a cannabis license and a liquor license under the Liquor Control Act (Sec. 2).
Prohibits shared or co-locations of both cannabis and alcohol establishments in the state of New Mexico (Sec. 2).
Amends cannabis product packaging limit regulations and requirements and establishes penalties for violations (Sec. 2).
Defines “illegal cannabis product” for the purposes of this bill as the following, including (Sec. 2):
Cannabis product produced or manufactured outside the state of New Mexico;
Cannabis product produced, or manufactured, distributed, or sold in New Mexico by an unlicensed individual; or
Cannabis product produced, or manufactured, distributed, or sold by a licensed individual who is acting outside the legal limits of their license.
Exempts any homegrown cannabis products that comply with all provisions of the Cannabis Regulation Act from the aforementioned definition and prohibitions (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall become effective July 1, 2024 (Sec. 20).
