Title: Establishes a 7% Rent Increase Cap Per Year
Vote to pass a bill that establishes a 7% rent increase cap per year in the state of Washington.
Establishes a 7% rent increase cap per year for landlords and tenants in the state of Washington (Part I, Sec. 102).
Requires landlords provide written notice to tenants of any significant rent increase within 180 days of increase and limits the amount and number of late fees allowed (Part I, Sec. 106).
Prohibits a landlords move in fee or security deposit for a tenant from exceeding one month’s rent (Part I, Sec. 107).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor and shall be set to expire July 1, 2027 (Part III, Sec. 303).
