Vote to pass a bill that prohibits employers from requiring workers to attend captive audience meetings.

Highlights:

• Establishes that workers are protected from retaliation by certain employers in relation to speech on political or religious matters (Sec. 1). 

• Prohibits any employer, including the state, from threatening with discharging an employee barring the following conditions (Sec. 1): 

• The employee refuses to attend in an employer-sponsored meeting with the employer; or

• Refuses to listen to speech or view communications regarding an employer's opinion concerning religious or political matters. 

• Establishes limits on the rights of employers to offer meetings communicating religious or political matters in which attendance is strictly voluntary (Sec. 1). 

• Prohibits an employer from requiring its employees to attend any training intended to prevent workplace harassment or discrimination (Sec. 1).
