Title: Strengthening the Quad Act
Vote to pass a bill that requires the Department of State to seek to establish a working group with Japan, Australia, and India to facilitate closer cooperation on shared interests and values.
Requires the Department of State to seek to establish a working group with Japan, Australia, and India to facilitate closer cooperation on shared interests and values within 60 days of this bills enactment date (Sec. 2-4).
Specifies that the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue or “Quad” is a coalition comprised of the United States and these 3 countries of Japan, Australia, and India (Sec. 2).
Requires the State Department to report to congress a strategy for bolstering engagement and cooperation with the Quad which shall address cooperation on issues, including (Sec. 3):
Preparing for the next pandemic;
Co-developing new innovative technologies; and
Deepening economic engagement and integration.
