Vote to pass a bill that establishes a waiting period in the state of New Mexico for firearm purchases.
Specifies that the waiting period will begin after the purchase of the firearm and shall include the period in which the federal background check will take place (Sec. 1A).
Requires that the firearm will remain in the custody of the seller or agent performing the background check during the 7 day period (Sec. 1B).
