Vote to pass a bill that establishes state clean energy standards for New Mexico.

Highlights:

• Defines “carbon intensity” as the amount of greenhouse emissions expelled by a vehicle (Sec. 1 B).

• Defines fuel life cycle as the aggregate amount of greenhouse gasses expelled in the usage of a vehicle (Sec 1. D)

• Establishes that this standard applies to gas powered and electric vehicles and that vehicles that produce any amount of greenhouse gas are subject to the act (Sec.1 I)

• Requires manufacturers of high polluting vehicles to buy credits in manufacturers who produce low polluting vehicles, to incentives lowering the pollution their vehicles generate (Sec 4. C).
