Vote to pass a bill that establishes a Class 1 misdemeanor for anyone who imports, sells, manufactures, purchases, possesses, transports, or transfers an assault firearm.

Highlights:

• Specifies that things of value may be provided in exchange for the surrender of a firearm if the local community has instituted a volunteer gun buy-back program (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that a person who imports, sells, purchases, or possesses, transport, or transfers an assault firearm is guilty of a class 1 misdemeanor (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that this does not apply to government or armed forces personnel (Sec. 1).
