Authorizes a school security officer to carry a firearm as long as they (Ch. 15, Article 2D, Sec. 3):
Are a former law enforcement officer in good standing;
Obtain and maintain certification from the Division of Protective Services;
Undergo background checks; and
Are approved to carry by their school board.
Prohibits school security officers from arresting any individual but specifies they can detain individuals until law enforcement arrives (Ch. 15, Article 2D, Sec. 3).
