Vote to pass a bill that appropriates funding for the state department of education.
Appropriates hundreds of millions in funding for the state department of education, including, but not limited to (Sec. 2):
$2.9 million for career and technical education;
$2.2 million for school food service;
$1.7 million for birth to age 3 services;
$3 million for student achievement and teacher quality program;
$3 million for statewide student assessment;
$9.1 million for jobs for america’s graduates program;
$3.4 million for children’s mental health and school based training and support;
$228.9 million for community colleges;
$11.4 million for the Iowa school for the deaf;
$4.8 million for the Iowa braille and sight saving school
$6.4 millin for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) collaborative agreement;
$24 million for future ready Iowa skilled workforce last-dollar scholarship program;
$218 million for the University of Iowa general support costs; or
$99 million for the University of Northern Iowa general support costs.
Specifies that the appropriation provisions in this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 3).
