Title: Establishes Exemptions from Public Utility Regulations for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Vote to pass a bill that establishes exemptions for electric vehicle charging stations from public utility regulations.
Defines terms related to EV vehicle charging and other purposes (Sec. 1).
Specifies that no state agency may own or operate an EV vehicle charger unless it is used solely by state owned or operated vehicles (Sec. 1).
Specifies that local governments in Wisconsin may own and operate an EV vehicle charging station if its level 1 and level 3 chargers are available for free (Sec. 3).
Specifies that local governments may contract with electricity providers to allow for EV station power (Sec. 3).
Specifies that the same applies to municipal utility operators but may charge a fee for operation (Sec. 3).
Specifies that the no tax revenue may subsidize the operation of EV vehicle charging stations (Sec. 3).
Specifies that an individual may not use power from an EV charging station for any other purpose then chagrin an EV vehicle (Sec. 6).
Specifies that there shall be an excise tax on usage of an EV charging station of 3 cents per KPH (Sec. 6).
