Vote to pass a bill that establishes putative measures for the promotion of animal fighting.

Highlights:

• Defines “animal fighting” as any fight between animals or animals and individuals made for amusement or monetary gain (Sec. 1).

• Exempts rodeo exhibitions from the aforementioned definition of animal fighting (Sec. 1).

• Establishes the following putative measures and authorizes monetary fines for the promotion of animal fighting, in the second and third degrees including (Sec. 1):

• A class D felony for promoting animal fighting in the first degree;

• A class E felony for promoting enterprise animal fighting in the first degree;

• A class A misdemeanor for promoting animal fighting in the second degree; and

• A class B misdemeanor for promoting animal fighting in the third degree.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect 19 days after passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 6).
