Title: Establishes Punishments for Promotion of Animal Fighting
Vote to pass a bill that establishes putative measures for the promotion of animal fighting.
Defines “animal fighting” as any fight between animals or animals and individuals made for amusement or monetary gain (Sec. 1).
Exempts rodeo exhibitions from the aforementioned definition of animal fighting (Sec. 1).
Establishes the following putative measures and authorizes monetary fines for the promotion of animal fighting, in the second and third degrees including (Sec. 1):
A class D felony for promoting animal fighting in the first degree;
A class E felony for promoting enterprise animal fighting in the first degree;
A class A misdemeanor for promoting animal fighting in the second degree; and
A class B misdemeanor for promoting animal fighting in the third degree.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect 19 days after passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 6).
