Vote to pass a bill that amends and modernizes key provisions governing Michigan land surveys.

Highlights:

• Requires land surveys to be recorded in the office of the register of deed in the county in which the land is located if not already done so before the conveyance of the land (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes requirements for what is to be included in the survey map which shall indicate points of interaction of boundary or lot lines with highways, streets, section lines, and meander lines (Sec. 2). 

• Establishes requirements for how the survey map is to be delivered by a professional surveyor including it being prepared by aided drafting (CAD), Typed, have lines of scale, and other requirements (Sec. 3). 

• Specifies the duties of the register of deeds (Sec. 3).
