Title: Authorizes Entities to Own or Operate Electric Vehicle Chargers Without being Considered a Public Utility
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes entities to own or operate electric vehicle chargers without being considered a public utility so they can qualify for funding under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
Authorizes regulation of certain public and private utilities with a public interest in the state (Sec. 1).
Establishes support for alternative energy suppliers and sources (Sec. 1).
Specifies that municipally owned utilities are included in certain parts for this act (Sec. 1).
Repeals the previous Michigan public utilities commission and confers the powers to the new public services commission (Sec. 1).
Establishes the duties and powers of certain state government officials and entities in managing public utilities (Sec. 1).
Repeals automatic adjustment clauses (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the securitization of stranded costs (Sec. 1).
