Vote to pass a bill that authorizes automatic payment deductions for political action committee (PAC) contributions.

Highlights:

• Authorizes automatic payment deductions plans for political action committee (PAC) contributions (Sec. 1).

• Defines “contribution” for the purposes of this bill as a payment, gift, subscription, assessment, expenditure, contract, payment for services, dues, advance, forbearance, loan, or donation of money, or anything of ascertainable monetary value, or a transfer of anything of ascertainable monetary value to an individual, made for the purpose of influencing the nomination or election of a political candidate (Sec. 1).

• Defines “payroll deduction plan” as any system in which an employer, including public bodies, deducts any amount of money from the wages, earnings, or compensation of an employee (Sec. 11).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 57).
