Vote to concur with house passage and final pass a bill that establishes a driver education grant program and appropriate resources for it.

Highlights:

• Establishes a drivers education grant program administered by the state (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that a provider who is eligible for grant money includes the following if the involve classroom and behind the wheel training (Sec. 1): 

• A public school;

• A technical college; 

• A nonpublic school; 

• A private school;

• A tribal school;and 

• A licensed school.

• Specifies that the amount of a grant may not exceed the cost of the course if a person were to take it (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that the department may set other rules (Sec. 1).
