Vote to pass a bill that require photo ID to purchase a firearm.

Highlights:

• Requires an individual present photo identification in order to purchase a firearm in the state (Sec. 1).

• Specifies the following shall be exempt from the aforementioned photo ID requirement, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):

• A law enforcement agency;

• An agency duly authorized to perform law-enforcement duties;

• A state or local correctional facility;

• A private security company licensed to do business within the state;

• The purchase of antique firearms; or

• An individual whose handgun is stolen or irretrevicably lost who deems it essential.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 1).
