Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that specifies Parole Board records are no longer exempt from mandatory disclosure requirements in the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.
Amends previous legislation to specify Parole Board records are no longer exempt from mandatory disclosure requirements in the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (Sec. 1).
Requires the Parole Board issue a statement over why an individual was granted or denied parole and specifies the board must conduct votes on parole decisions at public meetings (Sec. 1).
Specifies the provisions of this bill shall take effect beginning July 1, 2024 (Sec. 2).
