Title: Appropriates $65.6 Million to Reduce Child Care Costs to Young Families
Vote to concur with senate amendments and final pass a bill that appropriates a $65.6 million package aimed at making child care more affordable and available to parents of young children.
Appropriates a $65.6 million package from the state general budget in order to make child care more affordable and available to parents of young children, including, but not limited to (Sec. 2-5):
$22 million for child care assistance programs to serve working families;
$15 million for enhanced child care assistance payments for infants and toddler care;
$3 million for quality tiers in child care assistance programs; and
$2.3 million for waiving fees to families whose income does not exceed 30% of the state median income.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 6).
