Vote to pass a bill that establishes a transportation innovation program in the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

Highlights:

• Establishes the Mobility and Transportation Innovation Program within the New Jersey Department of Transportation and appropraites $10 million from state general funds for support (Sec. 1).

• Requies the aforementioned program to provide grants to local government units and transit agencies to fund public transportation projects that utilize innovative technologies and strategies to enhance passenger mobility and increased access to public transportation among disadvantaged communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (Sec. 2).

• Requires the department of transportation to submit a written report detailing operations of the program within one year of this bills enactment date (Sec. 3).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 5).
