Title: Requires Guaranteed Admission for Applicants Ranked in the Top 5% of Their High School Class
Vote to pass a bill that requires guaranteed admission for applicants ranked in the top 5% of their high school class.
Requires the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System and technical college district boards establish a guaranteed admission program for applicants ranked in the top 5% of their high school class (Sec. 1).
Requires an annual class ranking of certain high school students at the end of 11th and 12th grade (Sec. 1)
Requires school boards, charter school operators, and governing bodies of private schools and tribal schools that operate high schools to complete the following, including (Sec. 4).
Establish a method for ranking students on the basis of academic achievement, taking into account their grade point average, ACT score, course work, and other measures of academic achievement; and
Use this ranking method, annually prepare a class ranking of students at the end of 11th grade and 12th grade.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 6).
