Vote to pass a bill that requires requires school districts hire at least one civil rights coordinator to help oversee investigations of complaints alleging discrimination.

Highlights:

• Defines “Instructional Assistant” and “Intern teacher” (Sec. 1). 

• Authorizes school district boards to designate one or more civil rights coordinators who may be employees of the school (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes the duties of the coordinator as the follows (Sec. 1): 

• Oversee school compliance with civil rights laws in school districts; 

• Oversee investigations involving civil rights violations;
