Title: Amends and Outlines Fundamental Parental Rights Regarding Student Records
Vote to concur with senate amendments and final pass a bill that amends and outlines fundamental parental rights regarding student records.
Amends and outlines fundamental parental rights regarding student records, including, but not limited to the following (Sec. 1):
Directing the education of their child, including the right to choose public, private, religious, or home schooling;
Accessing and reviewing all written and electronic education records relating to the child that are controlled by or in the possession of a school;
Directing the upbringing of their child;
Directing the moral or religious training of their child;
Making and consenting to all physical and mental health care decisions for the child;
Accessing and reviewing all health and mental records of their child;
Consenting before a record of their child’s blood or dnA is created, stored, or shared;
Consenting before a government entitiy makes an audio or video recording of their child, unless directed by court or law enforcement.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 10).
