Title: Requires that Teacher who help Prevent Dangerous Behavior are Protected under collective bargaining
Vote to pass a bill that requires that teachers that prevent dangerous behavior are covered and protected by collective bargaining agreements.
Specifies that educators must be covered by the collective bargaining agreement in order to be subjected to the disputed resolution (Sec. 1).
Requires that upon a report from a teacher or administrator of a dangerous incident, the school administration shall review the report and develop an individual response plan (Sec. 1).
Requires that there is an incident report conducted by an administrator and public school employee (Sec. 1).
Specifies that if the incident is factual, the school administration shall develop an individual response plan to stop further behavior, which may include but is not limited to (Sec.1):
Suspension and expulsion of the student;
Prioritizing counseling services for the student and/or educators;
Providing positive behavioral support designed to better help the student and/or educators;
Restorative practices and restorative interventions;
Training for public school employees who interact with the student; and
Adequate staffing to implement the plan.
