Vote to pass a bill that prohibits public entities from discriminating against individuals on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, religion, and national origin.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a public entity from discriminating against an individual, exclude an individual from participation in a service, program or activity of that public entity or otherwise deny to an individual the benefits of a service, program or activity of that public entity by reason of the individual's race or color, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity, age, physical or mental disability, religion, ancestry or national origin (Sec. 9). 

• Specifies that this section does not siminish powers related to preventing discrimination in public entities that operate as employers, provide public accommodations, or as a provider of credit (Sec. 9).
