Title: Increases Protest Penalties

Vote to pass a bill that increases protest penalties to establish a maximum fine of $2,500 for interfering with participants in athletic or artistic events or going onto fields or stages without authorization.

Highlights:

  • Prohibits a person from intentionally touching or striking a performer or athlete during a competition or performance against the will of the performer or athlete or intentionally causing bodily harm to performer or athlete during such event (Sec. 1).

  • Prohibits a person from entering or remaining in a restricted area during an event without being authorized or invited to enter and remain there (Sec. 1).

  • Specifies that violators of this misdemeanor are punishable by a fine of no more than $2,500 (Sec. 1). 

  • Prohibits any person convicted of this misdemeanor to directly or indirectly profit or benefit from committing this misdemeanor (Sec. 1).
