Vote to pass a bill that prohibits dumping litter at water-control district properties or canal rights-of-ways unless given approval.

Highlights:

• Prohibits dumping litter at water-control district properties or canal rights-of-ways unless given approval and authorization from local government (Sec. 1).

• Amends the definition of “litter” to include the following additional items, such as (Sec. 1):

• Personal property;

• Pharmaceuticals;

• Household items;

• Trucks;

• Trailers; or

• Motor homes

• Defines “water control district” as a water control district that exists pursuant to chapter 298 or was created by a special act by the legislature (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes members of water control district boards of directors or district managers to notify law enforcement if it is determined that a dumping violation has occurred (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect October 1, 2023 (Sec. 5).
