Vote to pass a bill that authorizes new affordable housing on certain lands and amends zoning requirements.

Highlights:

• Authorizes new affordable housing on certain lands and amends zoning requirements to specifies new affordable housing projects may only be built if (Sec. 1):

• More than 60 percent of the land of the urban growth boundary; or

• More than 30 percent of the land within the urban growth boundary is within a 100-year floodplain.

• Authorizes local governments to prohibit affordable housing projects or require a zone change or conditional use permit to develop affordable housing in the state (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 2).
