a vote to pass a bill to amend laws concerning official misconduct and what the punishments are
Specifies that a public servant is guilty of a class G,F,D, or B felony if they intend to obtain a benefit from another person or cause harm against another person willingly and knowingly in an act of official misconduct (Sec. 1).
Specifies that they are guilty of official misconduct if they do the following (Sec. 1):
Commits an unauthorized act of official functions;
Refrains from performing a duty or breaches a duty of office;
Performs official actions with explicit interest in the person's self benefit;
Performs official action with the intent to discriminate based on race, religion, color, disability, sexual orientation, sex, age, gender identity, national origin, or ancestry;
Uses or relies upon their position to engage in criminal conduct.
Specifies that official misconduct with harm caused being more than $1500 being a felony (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the state supreme court has exclusive jurisdiction over these matters (Sec. 1).
