Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that expands assistance programs for children, adults, and families in the state of Washington.

Highlights:

• Specifies that a family are eligible to receive temporary assistance for needy families (TANF) for after the first 60 months of receiving TANF benefits effective January 1, 2024 (Sec. 2-Sec. 11). 

• Specifies that if this act is not referenced in the omnibus appropriations act by June 30, 2023, then this act is voided (Sec. 9).

• Specifies that retirement funds, pension plans, retirement accounts and any other resources not exceeding 12,000 dollars are exempt from ineligibility effective February 1, 2024 (Sec. 1-Sec. 13). 

• Specifies that in addition to a family’s monthly benefit payment, they alos may earn and keep the first 500 dollars of the family’s earnings in addition to one half of the family’s remaining earnings every month they are eligible for TANF effective August 1, 2024 (Sec. 5-Sec. 14).
