Vote to pass a bill that increases criminal penalties for immigrant smuggling or operating a stash house in the country.

Highlights:

• Increases criminal penalties for smuggling immigrants, or operating a stash house in the country to a third degree felony offense with a 10 year prison sentence (Sec. 1).

• Specifies individuals will be guilty of a third degree felony if found guilty of operating a stash house and the premises are a building other than for habitation and it is shown during trial that the offense was committeed with the deliberate intent of committing a separate offense (Sec. 8).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect December 1, 2023 (Sec. 13).
