Title: Increases the Minimum Wage for Health Care Workers to $25 an Hour Starting in 2025
Vote to amend and pass a bill that increases the minimum wage for health care workers to $25 an hour beginning in 2025.
Establishes five different minimum wage schedules for specific health care employees (Sec. 1).
Requires any covered health care facility employer with over 10,000 employees and other specified facilities to have a minimum wage of $23 by 2024 (Sec. 1).
Require any hospital with a high government payor mix or other specified health care facility type to establish a minimum wage of $18 by June 1st 2024 (Sec. 1).
Require specified clinics to establish a minimum wage of $21 per hour by 202r (Sec. 1).
Requires all other health care facility employees to receive a minimum wage of $21 per hour by 2026 (Sec. 1).
Require licensed nursing facilities to have a minimum wage of $21 by 2024 (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the state requirements for wages are enforceable by the labor commissioner (Sec. 1).
Requires the Department of Industrial Relations to develop a waiver program that would allow for an alternative schedule for the implementation of the new minimum wage requirements (Sec. 1).
Prohibits any ordinance or regulation from superseding the wage requirements set forth by this act (Sec. 1).
