Vote to pass a bill that authorizes retailers to exempt paper receipt requirements for purchases starting in 2026.
Requires a business that accepts payment through cash, card, or credit to provide consumers with the option to receive or not receive a proof of purchase (Sec. 1).
Prohibits the business from printing a paper proof of purchase if the consumer opts out of the receipt (Sec. 1).
Exempts businesses from requirements to provide the consumer with an option to not receive a proof of purchase if the consumer opts out (Sec. 1).
Prohibits a seller from offering a proof of purchase if it has Bisphenol A or(Sec. 1).
Classifies selling proof of purchases containing Bisphenol as a violation punishable by a civil penalty of $100 (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the attorney general to enforce these provisions (Sec. 1).
