Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that amends the signature gathering process for ballot initiatives that attempt to challenge approved state laws.

Highlights:

• Amends Ballot title and summary requirements for statewide referenda (Sec. 1). 

• Requires ballot title and summary be posed in the form of a question (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the ballot title and summary that appears in the voter information guides be followed by the measures top funders (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the ballot label for a statewide referendum measure to be followed by the choices “Keep the Law” or “Overturn the Law” (Sec. 2). 

• Require the state Secretary of State to identify the date of the next statewide general election not less than 31 days after teh SOS receives a petition certified to have been signed by the required number of voters (Sec. 3).
