a vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that establishes competency evaluations and restoration services to individuals Suffering from behavioral health conditions in the state of Washington.

Highlights:

• Requires that persons in jail who suffer from behavioral health disorders have the right to timely competency evaluations and restoration services (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits jails and juvenile detention centers from prohibiting an antipsychotic prescription, except for the following reasons (Sec. 12):

• The generic name and brand name are chemically the same;

• Drug recall or removal from the market; and

• Evidence indicating no therapeutic help.
