Title: Requires a Qualified Mental Health Professional to Protect an Identified Victim When Under Threat Of Bodily Harm
Vote to pass a bill that requires qualified mental health professionals or behavior analysts to take certain steps to warn or protect an identified victim or group of people when the professional determines that a service recipient has made an actual threat of bodily harm or has intent to commit such harm.
Specifies that if a patient has communicated to a qualified mental health professional or behavior analyst that they have intent to harm a person or peoples then the professional will take reasonable care to take precautionary measures (Sec. 1).
Requires the professional to report the threat to either the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services or local law enforcement (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the professional is not liable for damages in civil action because of this act (Sec. 1).
