  • Specifies that unspent money by the colorado DOJ may be used by the department until fully expended without further appropriation and must not be used for any unrelated purposes (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies that grants may be awarded to the following programs and policies regarding law enforcement workforce (Sec. 3):

    • Assisting for childcare;

    • Providing for health screenings; 

    • Providing for POST certified law enforcement officers to receive training in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; 

    • Create Partnerships with schools and other learning institutions for students to learn about; 

    • Develop youth programs; 

    • Develop and implement education campaigns for workplace; recruitments and tuition assistance; 

    • Implement strategies to recruit, train, and retain a high-quality and diverse workforce as deemed appropriate. 

  •  Specifies that the executive director may provide technical support as deemed necessary for application assistance to applicants (Sec. 3). 

  • Specifies the goal of these programs is to have a police force that reflects the communities they serve (Sec. 4).
