Vote to adopt a conference report that establishes unified campus police forces through agreements with college campuses.

Highlights:

• Defines ‘campus’ to mean the grounds and buildings owned or occupied by any college or university that has entered into a unified police force agreement (Sec. 1).

• Defines ‘united police force agreement’ to mean a contract entered into by two or more colleges or universities for the purpose of sharing campus policemen and related resources (Sec. 1).

• Requires that, on any campus of an educational facility which has entered into a unified police force agreement, a campus policeman employed by any of the participating colleges or universities have the same law enforcement powers, including the power of arrest, as a law enforcement officer of any local government with police jurisdiction over such campuses (Sec. 2).
