Title: Prohibits the Department of Corrections from Transporting Offenders to Any Location That's Not Their County of Residence
Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that prohibits transportation of an offender to anywhere except their county of residence by the state DOC.
Prohibits transportation or release of an individual offender to anywhere except their county of residence by the state Department of Corrections, unless under the following circumstances, including (Sec. 1):
The released offender has been ordered by the court to serve home detention, probation, or community corrections in a county other than their primary county of residence; or
The released offender has provided written proof that they have been accepted into a reentry program approved by the court, state agency, or local county or municipal agency; and
The released offender has employment and approved housing, not including homeless shelters.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 1).
