Title: Requires Clean Air in Classrooms and Schools

  • Defines terms related to school air filtration systems and maintenance (Sec. 5). 

  • Requires each classroom to receive a pdf and physical format explaining the health benefits of good air circulation and general good air quality (Sec. 5). 

  • Requires each classroom that is not already mechanically ventilated two have two functional windows, (Sec. 5). 

  • Specifies that each classroom shall have an air quality measure to ensure adequate air quality in each classroom that shall remain in all active classrooms and be installed at least one month after delivery of the meter (Sec. 5). 

  • Requires that each classroom has a suitable  portable air cleaner that utilizes a HEPA filter and a secondary filter as well to catch 97% of .3 micron particles (Sec. 5). 

  • Requires the requisition of 5 or more other portable air cleaners for other public areas that follow the same requirements (Sec. 5). 

  • Requires each school to undergo a ventilation verification assessment to determine quality of the air ventilation system and make recommendations to the school for corrective measure at least every 5 years (Sec. 5).
