Title: Prohibits the Instruction of Human Sexuality in Students From Pre-K Through Grade Three
Vote concur with senate passage and pass a bill that prohibits the instruction of human sexuality from pre-k through third grade.
Defines a school to mean any of the following (Sec. 3):
A public school, including charter schools;
Laboratory schools;
The Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired;
The Indiana School for the Deaf.
Prohibits a school, employee or staff member of the school, or third party vendors used by the school from providing instruction to a student on human sexuality in prekindergarten through grade 3 (Sec. 3).
Specifies that nothing in this chapter is to be used to prohibit a teacher from providing instruction on academic standards (Sec. 3).
Prohibits this chapter from preventing a school employee or staff member from responding to a question from a student regarding human sexuality (Sec. 3).
Requires that parents are given written notice no later than 5 business days, if the student is an unemancipated minor, of a student's request to change their name or pronouns (Sec. 4).
Specifies that this chapter does not change an individual’s duty to report child abuse or neglect (Sec. 4).
Prohibits this chapter from being used to require a school psychologist, nurse, social worker, or counselor to violate federal law or regulations (Sec. 4).
