Title: Authorizes Interstate Cannabis Agreements

Highlights:

  • Authorizes the governor of washington to enter into an interstate compact for the purpose of (Sec. 1):

    • Cross-jurisdictional coordination and enforcement of cannabis-related businesses authorized to conduct business; and

    • Cross-jurisdictional delivery of cannabis between Washington and other states.

  • Specifies that the compact must ensure the following (Sec. 1): 

    • Public health standards are met and;

    • Federal law is amended;  or

    • The department of justice issues a memorandum tolerating the interstate transfer of cannabis.

  • Specifies if the following is met then the Liquor and Cannabis board must meet to determine the following (Sec. 2): 

    • The effective date of the act going into effect; 

    • Provide written notice of the changes; and

    • Adopt necessary rules and regulations.
